Windham ZBA approves ADU variance on Gillis Road
Zoning Board of Adjustment · Meeting of January 13, 2026
NH WINDHAM — Windham ZBA approves oversized accessory dwelling unit after design compliance issue. The board voted unanimously to permit a 988-square-foot dwelling unit at 2 Gillis Road, exceeding the town's 950-square-foot limit by 38 square feet; applicant Sean Blankenship's pre-purchased design required revision estimated at $5,000, plus material costs up to $40,000 due to factory-constructed components. The variance came with conditions that no wall separate the garage bays and the unit remain two bedrooms.
Chairperson Michelle Stith oversaw the board, which in a separate 4-0-1 vote, with Secretary Mark Brockmeier abstaining, granted a rehearing for Troy and Katelyn Boutelle's previously denied variance request.
