Windham Heritage Commission identifies barns for preservation study
Historic District _ Heritage Commission · Meeting of March 9, 2026
NH WINDHAM — Windham Heritage Commission identified eight historic barns built in 1900 or earlier as potential preservation tax incentive candidates. Commission Chair Peter Griffin is pursuing a Windham Garden Club Baker Grant to fund plantings at the Fessenden Mill site, while members Lee Merrill and Griffin have made progress contacting local churches including Northridge and Presbyterian churches, with planned meetings at Heritage Baptist Church and St. Matthew's.
The commission determined that additional research is needed before formally pursuing the barn preservation program.
