NH WINDHAM — Windham commission plans three cemetery markers at historic sites. The Windham Historic District/Heritage Commission expanded its cemetery signage plan beyond initial proposals, reaching consensus on installing separate markers for Garaphelia Sylva, Cemetery on the Plain, and Cemetery on the Hill after cemetery trustees suggested a broader approach. Chair Peter Griffin will coordinate with the General Services Director on a historic marker at Fessenden Mill Park, with exact location and installation date pending.
The commission is advancing a historic sign at the mill's post office site focused on postal history and other town post offices, and will participate in Election Day table coverage on November 3. Derek Saffie, the commission secretary, will draft wording for all cemetery markers and investigate bulk ordering discounts.
