NH WINDHAM — Windham selectmen approve Captain Bryan Smith as Police Chief on three-year contract. The Board voted by consensus in non-public session to hire Smith. The board also voted unanimously to terminate its community power agreement with Standard Power and engage Freedom Energy as consultant, citing Standard Power's under-resourced operations and failure of rates to fall below Eversource's default.
Freedom Energy serves 12 communities and could launch by April 2026 if paperwork is completed in January. The board voted 4-0 to expand the ambulance revolving fund to 100 percent of ambulance revenue for Fire Department vehicles and apparatus.
