Planning Board delays storage facility pending contamination study
Planning Board · Meeting of June 17, 2026
NH WINDHAM — Windham Planning Board demands expert study before approving storage facility. The board voted 6-0 to require an independent assessment of water and air quality before approving the 78,000-square-foot self-storage facility proposed by Doug MacGuire of The Dubay Group on Ledge Road. The site experienced contamination in 2006-2007, prompting Department of Environmental Services involvement that concluded with a letter of closure in 2011.
Board members also voted 6-0 to ask the town attorney whether site plan regulation 1002.1 requires posting a bond for potential impacts to neighboring properties, following more than two hours of public comment from residents concerned about water safety and construction noise.
