Planning Board Backs Five Zoning Amendments

NH WINDHAM — Windham planning board advances five zoning amendments to warrant, rejects three citizen petitions. Chairman Jacob Cross and the board voted 7-0 to recommend approval of amendments for multifamily housing in commercial districts with a maximum of 12 units and 50 percent workforce housing, short-term rental regulation, updated ADU rules, open space residential setbacks, and removal of parking inspection requirements. The board recommended against a proposal to rezone Gateway Commercial to rural by a 5-2 vote, against a petition to expand ADU and short-term rental uses unanimously 7-0, and against a Growth Management Ordinance limiting development based on school enrollment by a 5-1 vote, with board member Alan Carpenter dissenting.
