Local Energy Committee re-elects officers, pursues solar facility

NH WINDHAM — Windham's Local Energy Committee re-elects officers while preparing for a significant Community Power rate increase. The committee unanimously re-elected Mark Kovacs as chairman and Allen Reed as vice-chairman. Fall Community Power rates are projected to range from $0.1365 to $0.1437 per kilowatt-hour, compared with the current default rate of $0.10406 per kilowatt-hour.

In response, the committee is exploring large-scale solar development similar to a 2.2-megawatt facility in Derry and will confer with consultant Freedom Energy Logistics before finalizing fall rates.
