Conservation Commission plans beekeeping program on protected lands

NH WINDHAM — The Windham Conservation Commission advances beekeeping initiatives and prepares for Zoning Board variance reviews. Commission members indicated support for establishing bee colonies at Golden Meadow and Campbell Farm, with Vice Chair Wayne Morris volunteering to consult property owner Jeffery Landry about opening his easement for additional hives and Chair Michael Specian coordinating community education efforts. Beekeeper Christopher Polychronopoulos recently checked the colonies, finding all but one hive surviving the winter.
The Commission also prepared to participate in March 12 Zoning Board hearings for two residential variances on Cross Street, where applicant Edward N. Herbert Associates Inc. seeks relief from lot-size and setback requirements for properties owned by Wrap Development III LLC.
